Bormio is easy to reach both by car and by train. By car, some very important Alpine passes remain closed in the winter, while in the summer they remain open.

BY CAR
- from Milan: SS36 (Milan, Lecco, Colico) and then SS38 (Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio).
- from Bergamo: SS342 to Cisano Bergamasco and then follow
SS639 towards Lecco and then SS36 (Lecco, Colico) and SS38 (Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio). - from Brescia: Lake Iseo/Valcamonica towards Edolo, continue towards Passo di Aprica and then reach Tirano.
Continue along the SS38.- from Bolzano/Merano: cross the Stelvio Pass (open only in summer) and continue towards Bormio. - from Switzerland: in winter head towards Livigno, cross the La Drossa Tunnel and then continue towards Bormio.
in summer reach Santa Maria Monastero, cross the
Umbrail Pass and continue towards Bormio.
Attention: navigators do not indicate that the passes:
PASSO STELVIO – PASSO GAVIA – PASSO FORCOLA are open only in the summer season.

By train
- from Milan: Trenitalia reference railway station Tirano then continue with the Autolinee Perego to Bormio.

BY PLANE
- From Milan Linate (about 200 km – 3 hours by car) take the Yellow MM Metro to Milan Central Station. From there take the train to Tirano and from Tirano to Bormio continue with Autolinea Perego or taxi.
- From Malpensa (about 250 km – 3.5 hours) a transfer service with a bus to Bormio is available.
- From Bergamo Orio al Serio (about 190 km – 3 hours)
a transfer service with a direct bus to Bormio is available.
The reservation must be made online at least 3 days before departure.
